The annual general meeting of the West Niagara Agricultural Society held on Tuesday, Jan. 19 reminded us that the very first year of the fair at their new home was extremely wet.
The rain dampened the spirits of the fairgoers and kept others at home warm and dry in their houses. Amanda Pyper of DJ Barkwell and Company LLP noted that due to the weather the fair experienced a small loss, as there was a decrease in fair admissions. The small loss and the first wet year has not put a damper on the volunteers that attended the meeting. More than 40 people, many new faces, came out to become a member of the WNAS.
